Workout Program for Pregnant Women

My first pregnancy I was pregnant with twins. I found out at week 5 that I was pregnant and was determined to workout. At the time, I knew nothing about working out and had no idea there were “safe” programs out there so I bought a treadmill. I remember getting on the treadmill for the first time and five minutes into it I needed to run to a bucket. The treadmill did not agree with me. I waited until I was 12 weeks and figured I would try again. This time, I didn’t throw up but I would lose my balance and felt like the babies were getting rocked around in my belly. So, I gave up. I used my pregnancy as an excuse to eat for 3 and enjoyed every bit of it. I had Wendy’s, cake, candy, pizza – everything I craved I caved into. Then delivery came and of course they weight you on your way in – I had gained 85 lbs!!!! Two weeks after delivering the babies I discovered Beachbody and not only did I lose every ounce of weight I gad gained, but I maintained a healthy weight with my second pregnancy by continuing with my workout program. What was that program? The 21 Day Fix.

I love the 21 Day Fix program and I think it is the best workout program for pregnant women. It combines light cardio with weights and allows you to not only maintain a healthy weight, but build muscle as well. The workouts are only 30 minutes in length and there is a person on the right in each workout that shows a lower-impact variation of the exercises (this helps when you enter into your 3rd trimester).
