Beachbody makes two recovery drinks, the Beachbody Performance Recover (chocolate shake) and the P90X Recovery Formula (orange shake). I have tried both(alternating different months) of them while on Body Beast, Hammer & Chisel, and Insanity Max30. I can honestly say the Beachbody Performance Recover shake comes in first place.
With Beachbody Performance Recover I found several things:
- I was significantly less sore the day after my workout after drinking Beachbody Performance Recover drink within 45 minutes of ending my workout/
- I was able to complete my workouts without requiring an off-day after drinking Beachbody Performance Recover drink. When I took the P90X recovery drink my muscles were still tired the following day.
- I liked the taste of the Beachbody Performance Recover drink more than the P90X recovery drink. The Beachbody Performance shake I made with 1 cup water, 1 scoup recovery formula, 1 tbs peanut butter, and 1 cup of ice. It tasted like a Peanut Butter Cup! With the P90X recovery drink I was limited to orange.
It is a great idea to take a recovery shake in general, so there is no bad choice. My best friend loves the P90X Recovery. I am a huge fan of the Beachbody Performance Recover shake. I didn’t experience any muscle soreness or fatigue the following day, and I my muscles were ready to go – regardless of which workout followed. Since drinking the Beachbody Performance Recover shake I will NEVER workout without it.
